Identifying Ways to Improve Human Health Outside the Health Sector

Brief

Since the early 1990s, the Disease Control Priorities (DCP) project has been systematically evaluating options to decrease the disease burden in low- and middle-income countries. The fourth iteration (DCP4) of the project is underway and will be published by the World Bank. One volume of this iteration will significantly expand consideration of interventions undertaken outside the healthcare system that substantially improve public health, under the leadership of Lisa A. Robinson (Harvard University). The analysis will identify interventions typically implemented outside the healthcare system that generate the largest net benefits for society, with substantial health impacts.

Dr. Brad Wong, Founder of Mettalytics, has been invited to be a co-editor of this Volume.
